About Us
Our story is a little unconventional, just like the treasures you’ll find at Mystic Thrift. We’re Albert and Gabby, and our paths first crossed in the aisles of Meijer. Life took us in different directions for a while, but fate brought us back together eight years later, and we’ve been inseparable ever since.
Albert, a natural artist, explored his creativity through tattooing while working in retail. I, Gabby, was climbing the ladder in the fast-food world before taking a detour into medical assisting and then HR management. Albert even shared his tattooing skills with me for a time!
A few years ago, we embraced a nomadic lifestyle, selling our house and living in an RV for two years before settling in Springfield. Health challenges eventually led us to step away from tattooing, but our passion for art and creativity never faded.
In August 2024, I took the leap to join Albert full-time in our business venture. We’re constantly learning and evolving, navigating the world of marketing, product display, and website creation (with a special thanks to AI tools like Leonardo.ai and Gemini!).
Albert’s artistic talents span a wide range of mediums – from acrylic and spray paint to clay, resin, and digital design. We’re committed to sustainability, which is why we’ve embraced print-on-demand for our original designs (nothing is printed until it’s ordered!). We also love giving new life to pre-loved items through our thrift collection.
Mystic Thrift is a reflection of our eclectic tastes – a little bit edgy, a touch goth, and always with a sprinkle of inspiration. We hope to uplift and inspire everyone who encounters our brand, whether they make a purchase or simply connect with our story. Of course, a few sales would definitely help us keep the dream alive!
